TU Austria Innovationsmarathon 2015

Last week I took part in the TU Austria Innovationsmarathon. Despite the name, this event was not about running 42km but about developing an innovative concept in a 24h non-stop event. TU Austria (Austrian Universities of Technology) is an association of the technical universities in Austria - Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology and University of Leoben.

Count-down to presentation, Fri, just before 9:00am

After a kick-off event on Wednesday, 27th, the actual 24hour event (BLOG from the event) started on Thursday, 28th at 9:00am. From over 100 applicants, 45 students had been chosen for 9 teams of 5 and given real problems by industry partners to work on. After 24 hours of analyzing the problem, finding solutions, and building prototypes and mock-ups the solutions were presented to the industry partners.

Tired but happy - our team and our industry partner
It was a very intense but also very fun event! I was in a great team of people who were all smart, enthusiastic, and good sports and we had a great industry partner from LogicData in Deutschlandsberg.

I'd like to thank the organizers from TU Austria for the fantastic organisation and especially for the excellent healthy food that was designed to keep us all going through the night.
